All you need to know about me you can learn by following me on Twitter @sparkleshoes12.
But if you’re not the Twitter type here’s what might interest you: I was born and raised in Central Wisconsin. Back in 2006 I ventured to the “big city” of Madison, WI for college. I graduated in 2010 with a B.S. in Communicative Disorders, and I spent the next two years working in Catholic Campus Ministry in Madison. Check it out here. It was a pretty neat gig–I did things like plan retreats and cook 5 turkeys at one time.
In February of 2013 I decided that the Lord was calling me to be a missionary. I applied, interviewed, was offered and accepted a position to serve as a campus missionary with FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students. I spent last year living in Fargo, North Dakota. I have a theory that everyone should live in North Dakota for one winter. It’s soooo cold, you’ll want to swear every time you have to go outside, but also I think the cold permanently kills all the bad germs in your body. I haven’t been sick since I left North Dakota.
In August 2014 I moved into an apartment near Ball State University (Muncie, Indiana). Since then I’ve been helping my team and the students reach the campus with the Good News of Jesus Christ! What a joy and an honor!
A short list of some of my favorites: pink, baking, sparkles and meowing like a cat. My favorite hobby is starting lots of different hobbies and quitting them a few weeks later–so I know very little about a ton of different things (not a practical life-skill).
And, just for the record, this blog is my own. Everything I say reflects my own thoughts and opinions and not those of anyone I work with or for. (The disclaimer is necessary in case the audience of this blog reaches beyond my mother.)
